In 2002, WFFM publishes the practical handbook “How to Start a Friends Group” by an Australian, Carol Serventy. This basic guide encourages people to start groups of Friends of Museums and to band together in a regional association or a national federation.
The conference was extremely successful with exemplary organization and hospitality and with a large participation from all countries of the world. The opening of the conference took place with all formality at the internationally renowned Opera Colon in Buenos Aires. On Tuesday, October 8, the official opening of the Conference took place, which lasted until Friday, October 11. The individual topics of the conference concerned the following sections:
• The Friends and their socio-economic role.
• The Friends as a link between the Museums and the public. The Conference was admittedly excellent and the presentations
